Meeting with Parents of Grade 9 Students (Posted October 6th)
All Parents of grade 9 students are invited to attend an important meeting on Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 pm in the Xavier school library. Elwood High principal, Mr. Jamie Park, will be present to discuss with parents what students can expect when they enter high school. There will also be important discussion around the importance of doing well in grade 9.
Healthy Snacks Student Challenge
Today was the first day of the Healthy Snacks Student Challenge, an event to help educate students and promote healthy eating. This Challenge is a natural extension to our Engaging Parents with Healthy Eating initiative done with public health nurses at school curriculum nights in September. The challenge is for students to bring in a healthy snack for recess every day for two weeks from Monday Nov. 14 – Friday Nov. 25. Read Across Canada Challenge
(Posted November 14th)Students and teachers at Xavier have taken up the challenge of reading across Canada. Every page read by students and teachers will equal 1 km of Trans Canada highway between St. John's, NL and Victoria, BC. The first class to successfully read their way across Canada will win a prize.
